about the program
The mission of SMYC’s Youth Sailing Program is to provide our youth with the opportunity to learn and enjoy sailing and racing. Sailing nurtures and builds confidence, team skills, self-reliance, physical strength, critical thinking, and a love for the environment.
Our lessons are Monday – Friday after school, from 3:30 to 6 pm. Or on Saturday morning from 9 to 11.30 am, Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3:30 pm.
This is a full-season program, so registration for only a week or month is not available. Private lessons, holiday camps, clinics and fun sails are offered separately.
The 2026/2027 season will start in the week of September 7, 2026.
INFORMATION
SMYC follows the International Yacht Training program structure, with support from the Maritime School of the West Indies. Sailors who reach the required level will receive an internationally recognized sailing certificate at the end
of the season.
We have space available for new students this season! But space is limited so if you are interested make sure to fill out the registration form as soon as possible. (scroll down on this page for the registration form).

We will contact all parents & sailors that filled out the registration form in the middle of August with confirmation of our schedule.
In addition to the registration form, we need the following to complete your registration:
Two documents filled out and signed:
– The IYT Enrollment form and Waiver (two in one pdf)

Your payment needs to be made before the start of the first lesson. For payment options you can choose to pay per term or for the whole year. Monthly payment options are available on request, for more information email sam@smyc.com.
