The SMYC Sailing Academy is the perfect way for you to have a fun and rewarding vacation sailing adventure. Learn about the joy and beauty of sailing during your stay on Sint Maarten, one of the Caribbean’s most unique sailing locations. Taught by experienced sailing instructors, all classes take place at the Sint Maarten Yacht Club and on the waters of Simpson Bay Lagoon.

Whether you’re looking for a fun morning on the water or want to use your Caribbean holiday to learn a new skill, the SMYC Sailing Academy has an experience for you. We offer three sailing experiences designed especially for visitors to Sint Maarten.
Learn to Sail – Youth
A multi-day sailing program where kids learn to sail, build confidence, and create a love for being on the water. Small groups and experienced instructors ensure a fun and personal learning experience, while parents have several hours to enjoy the island.
Learn to Sail – Adults
A structured sailing course for adults and young sailors who want to learn or improve their sailing skills. Available as a 3 day programme, with individual, duo, and group options. Learn at your own pace while sailing different boats in the protected waters of Simpson Bay Lagoon.
Lagoon Sailing Experience
A relaxed and memorable introduction to sailing. Step aboard our Sun Fast 20 with an experienced instructor and discover Simpson Bay Lagoon from the water. Perfect for couples, families, friends, or anyone who simply wants to experience sailing in the Caribbean.
