On Sunday, May 25, the Sint Maarten Yacht Club (SMYC) hosted the second to last
race of the year in the Grant Thornton Keelboat Season Championship.

The event featured a total of 4 boats, including a Melges 24, J/105, and two Sun Fast 20s, competing in three races per class. All three races were sailed on Simpson Bay in ideal conditions. A moderate breeze of 15 to 20 knots allowed the competitors to get around the course quickly and the racing action was finished around noon.

In the CSA 1 fleet, the Melges 24 Team Island Water World claimed first place and the J/105 More Zessin took second place.

In the Sun Fast 20 fleet, Team Budget Marine took the top spot on the podium, followed by Team Lagoon Marina.

A special thank you to PRO, Joris, and to Iain for volunteering to join the race committee so we could make this Keelboat race happen.
