On Saturday, April 12th, 2025, the Sint Maarten Yacht Club once again brought the community together for its much-anticipated annual fundraiser: the SMYC Raffle and Silent Auction. Held at the vibrant SMYC Bar and Restaurant, the event raised an impressive $12,300 to support the Club’s Youth Sailing Program.
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed friendly competition and generous giving as they participated in both the Silent Auction, which brought in $4,600, and the Raffle, which raised $7,700 through ticket sales in the weeks leading up to the event and on the day itself.

This year’s Silent Auction featured a diverse selection of items—ranging from hotel stays and excursions to artwork and exclusive experiences—available for bidding both online and in-person. The Raffle boasted over 90 prizes, all donated by supportive local businesses, offering something special for every participant.
As always, the event’s success was powered by the collaborative efforts of the SMYC staff, dedicated volunteers, and the incredible involvement of the community. “It’s inspiring to see how many people contribute their time and resources to help fund our sailing programs,” said Sam Peeks, Sailing Instructor at the SMYC”. “From ticket buyers and bidders to the young sailors who helped sell raffle tickets—it’s truly a group effort.”

The club continues to use funds raised from events like these to offer accessible sailing opportunities to local children, including school-based programs and the Sailability Project, which provides adaptive sailing for individuals of all abilities.
“Every dollar raised brings us closer to our mission of making sailing inclusive, accessible, and fun for youth across the island,” said Saskia Revelman, SMYC Manager. “We are so grateful for our sponsors, donors, and everyone who came out to support the event.
