On Sunday October 9, the Sint Maarten Yacht Club hosted an Open House to promote Sailing and Youth Sailing on Sint Maarten. The Open House was a day filled with fun, sun and most of all: sailing. Approximately 25 sailors, non-sailors, members, and non-members of all ages stopped by the Yacht Club to sail with each other or gather information about the Yacht Club. During the day, visitors had the opportunity to try out sailing for free with one of our sailing instructors joining them in the boat. In this safe and fun way they are able to learn the basics of sailing themselves.

Sailors from our Youth Sailing Program had the chance to show their sailing progress to their family and friends. The kids had lots of water fun together at thefloating dock as well.

“It was great to see the smiles when the participants came off the water, whether it was a child or an adult, sailing makes people enjoy and relax”. Said Sam Peeks Sailing instructor of the Sint Maarten Yacht Club Sailing School.

Not only was it fun in and on the water, there was also plenty activities to do on the dock.Games could be played, information could be gathered and sailors and non-sailors could meet while enjoying delicious food and drinks from thebar.
