After a several year hiatus, the Anguilla Regatta was run on June 21-22, 2025 in
coordination between the Sint Maarten Yacht Club (SMYC) and Anguilla Youth Sailing
Club.
Four teams sailing two Diam 24s, a J/105 and Beneteau 47.7 kicked off the event on
Saturday morning with a distance from Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten to Road Bay,
Anguilla. After a reaching start it was a fast trip across Anguilla Channel before a
spirited beat up the northwest shore of Anguilla and a finish in the beautiful waters of
Road Bay.

In the afternoon, teams enjoyed Anguilla’s signature laid back island hospitality and ate
well at local beachside restaurants—Elvis’ Beach Bar, Johnno’s, and Roy’s Bayside
Grill.
On Sunday morning, racers took to the waters of Road Bay again for two more races.
Sailing a windward-leeward course, the breeze was fresh out of the east and the seas
were relatively flat. When racing was complete, the teams gathered on the beach for
prize giving and beverages provided by the Anguilla Youth Sailing Club.

“It was a fun weekend on the water,” remarked SMYC’s Andy Cross. “This a great
venue for racing and it was exciting to see the teams mixing it up on the water.”
